Episode synopsis
An unassuming neighborhood in Istanbul—a place no one visits and whose name goes unknown—called Ziyankâr. Though hardship frequently knocks at its doors, life here goes on, fueled by hope. Emir is one of those who clings most tightly to that hope; his greatest dream is to provide a better life for his family, the friends he considers brothers, and his loved ones. For Emir and his friends, the final match is not merely a battle for a trophy, but a last chance to change their lives. Eager to size up their opponents before the game, the young men find themselves in an unfamiliar side of Istanbul. Growing up in vastly different worlds within the same city, these young people stand at the threshold of a journey that will alter their destinies—even if they do not yet realize it.
About It's Just Istanbul
For Emir and his friends—Hasan, Sadık, and Mert—who grew up in Ziyankâr, a working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of Istanbul, life feels like a game they’ve lost before it even began. Trapped between poverty, violence, and despair, these four young men see soccer as their only chance to change their fate. They try to break free from this darkness through their friendship and their dreams.
