Over the next few weeks, Simon feels his body being taken over by something else though it is ultimately for the good as he becomes a different person. But as Simon starts to feel stronger, Dr Benham's life is taking a turn for the worse.

In the Diogenes Club, writer Daniel is sceptical of ghost stories told by other members and barmaid Helena but contributes a spooky tale of his own when, as a boy, he met a gang of youths who took him to a sinister house in the woods. He refused their dare to enter but then something very weird happened, Nobody else believes him save for an elderly man who seems to have known the boys that Danny met and can vouch for his story.

Celebrated photographer Dean Smith tells interviewer Miranda Walker how, as a teenager, he became besotted with Charlotte, a 19-year old model whose face he saw in a men's magazine. Bizarrely, over the years, he would see her again and again in different publications under different names but still only 19. All efforts to find her were in vain until, some twenty years after his first sight of her, she walked into his newly acquired first studio to model for him and still gave her age as 19.
